Debbie’s diverse nursing career spans 40 years, covering a wide spectrum from acute care to community outreach, always with an emphasis on pioneering holistic and integrative care. Her expertise includes medical-surgical nursing, the operating room, home health, geriatric care management, faith community nursing, nursing education, dementia care, palliative, and hospice care.
Starting her career as a Diploma graduate nurse, Debbie later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Innovation (MHI) from Arizona State University. She is certified in Holistic Nursing, Integrative Imagery, Humor and Therapeutic Laughter Therapy, and Change Coaching. Additionally, she has pursued extensive training in Lifestyle and Functional Medicine, HeartMath, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, and The Three Principles.
As a co-chapter leader for the American Holistic Nurses Association in Arizona, Debbie has played a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant community where healthcare professionals and students alike explored alternative healing methods in harmony with traditional medical practices. Through her coaching, speaking, and facilitating global programs, she empowers others to tap into their inner wisdom and rediscover the innate health that is always within them.
Dr. Sue Roe has been a consultant for over 30 years and is known for her innovative initiatives and programs in healthcare workforce development/enrichment, leadership, holistic nursing, and practice-ready curriculum and assessment. She has developed academic, training, and continuing education programs in nursing, allied health, leadership, holistic nursing, and wellness. She serves in leadership roles in several professional associations. Dr. Roe has been the Arizona chapter leader and currently serves as Nurse Peer Reviewer, Education Approver Committee, for the American Holistic Nurses Association.
Dr. Roe has diverse administrative and managerial experience and is an invited speaker at conferences locally and across the country. She has taught for over 35 years at a variety of universities and colleges and facilitates many training programs. Current publications include Life by Personal Design: Realizing Your Dream, Health Science: Concepts and Applications, and The Nursing Assistant: Essentials of Holistic Care. She is also a peer manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Holistic Nursing.
Dr. Roe earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science with a major in nursing from the University of Arizona. She also earned a Doctorate in Public Administration with an emphasis in Administration and Health Policy from Arizona State University. In addition, Dr. Roe has completed graduate work in education and training.
Dr. Roe has received recognition and awards for her professional leadership and accomplishments. She is considered a community leader, skillful facilitator, an accomplished administrator, and change agent.
